Catching Up a Bit...
Friday, August 19, 2022
It had served previous lives as a residence, and a filling station, and was resurrected into a charming cafe', with an iconic old pickup truck, in the front and a really fun themed decor inside, of a gas station, including oil barrels that were re-made into table chairs!
Its a small place, but another great place for light food and conversation! Thankful my daughter treated me, hope to go again!
Hello and Happy Friday, August 19, 2022
This is actually a photo of a charming little eatery in Kanarraville,Utah.
The name of it if 'Linski's' and was just a short drive down the hiway from our place in Cedar City.
I will miss it now that we've moved up to Emmett. The food is always good, and I paticularly enjoy places to eat that have interesting decor! These barstools are a genuine work of art, and also in the restaurant there is a display a local artist' photography and water color paintings of the town and surrounding hiking area up a slot cave! Always worth a stop to eat and peruse the art!

Just a pretty little potholder.....
Just made a pretty little potholder with a little sage saying on the opposite side. For such a simple project, it involved a lot of steps!!
First of all I had to find the one souvenir horseshoe I brought with me to Utah, from Fairbanks! I am still going through boxes we brought with us a year ago, and it seems a bonafide wonder that I actually found it!
~ Next get a photo of the horseshoe onto a digital camera and upload the photo onto a computer, that I have a subscription of the Picsart software on.. On that program is where I was challenged with making all the decisions of size, background colors, tints and texture of the horseshoe and additional flowers! The finished design is simply named "Lucky Horseshoe and Roses talisman".
~ After that the finished design went to my Spoonflower account which will print up anybody's custom designs, and where I ordered a half yard of the design on a cotton fabric.
~ Then it was another sit down at my computer to draw up the saying I wanted to put
on it, and printed that, onto computer fabric! The saying (a paraphrase of two Scriptures) was zig zag stitched onto the flower print fabric, while a heart shaped cutout of my design got zig zagged onto the plain pink fabric.
~ These along with the 10 inch square of cotton batting, were sandwiched together, right sides facing with the ends of a string loop in the top, pinned and sewn together, leaving an opening in the bottom to turn it right side out, press it, and top stitch the edges.
Potholder finished!!
So, here is a couple things about why I would write this blurb about a handmade potholder of all things.
One, I am getting older and a little forgetful, and I know that I want to make more of these.
Two, my daughters read things I write and its a pretty doable little sewing lesson.
The most important of all things about this little article, is the Scripture that inspires me:
In the book of Eccesiastes it is written in chapter 5 and verse 18:
Even so, I have noticed one thing, at least, that is good. It is good for people to eat, drink, and enjoy their work under the sun during the short life God has given them, and to accept their lot in life.
Every step of this piece of work, as well as the finished project; brought me enjoyment.
I enjoy my relationship to God who inspires and strengthens me! I enjoyed the horse that wore the shoe. I enjoy electronics, and computers, artwork and sewing - the cooking I will use the potholder to do - I even enjoy the writing of this short article!
Some of you have so much more than me. Some of you have less. But I guarantee its easier to learn to use a computer, than it is to learn to be content. I apologize to those affected by my shortage in that, but I hold out hope for myself, that God who started THAT good and skillful work inside of me; will be faithful to completely finish it!!
Soli Deo Gloria
Jesus my Lord

Happy in our pasture!
Right around our part of the county, there are a lot of pastures close by our rows of townhouses, that are full of sheep and other livestock.
On the day I took this picture, I greeted this flock with "Hello Neighbors" from the opposite side of their fence. Most were a good deal away from me and the fence. Those who were closer, still bent their heads back down and continued eating contentedly; my strangeness to them having no visible effect on their meal.
As I observed the quiet animals, the text integrated on the picture came to my mind, and I thought "how odd"! I often meditated on things I could see as relational to verses of the Bible, but certainly this was not one of those!
But in another place we can find God calling us the "sheep of His hand"! Defenseless, weak, small sheep; yet indeed we are made courageous, generous, hospitable, and many other characteristics of the likeness of Christ! What a miracle of transformation it is! From a movie a heard a saying, "you are bigger on the inside, than you are on the outside". This is the very thing I believe and have experienced in my life being indwelt by the savior Jesus Christ! How very fitting is this Scripture, especially considering the present stresses of this age? How thankful we can all be in the light of the fact He makes Himself available in the same way to every living being! How about YOU? Christ is near. Do you want a transformation?
