Happy in our pasture!

Right around our part of the county, there are a lot of pastures close by our rows of townhouses, that are full of sheep and other livestock.

On the day I took this picture, I greeted this flock with "Hello Neighbors" from the opposite side of their fence. Most were a good deal away from me and the fence. Those who were closer, still  bent their heads back down and continued eating contentedly; my strangeness to them having no visible effect on their meal.

As I observed the quiet animals, the text integrated on the picture came to my mind, and I thought "how odd"!  I often meditated on things I could see as relational to verses of the Bible, but certainly this was not one of those!

But in another place we can find God calling us the "sheep of His hand"! Defenseless, weak, small sheep; yet indeed we are made courageous, generous, hospitable, and many other characteristics of the likeness of Christ! What a miracle of transformation it is! From a movie a heard a saying, "you are bigger on the inside, than you are on the outside".  This is the very thing I believe and have experienced in my life being indwelt by the savior Jesus Christ! How very fitting is this Scripture, especially considering the present stresses of this age? How thankful we can all be in the light of the fact He makes Himself available in the same way to every living being! How about YOU? Christ is near. Do you want a transformation?

A Promise for the Us and the Desert

 A wide wide wilderness...

. . .waits a few mere miles down the road from me, spreading out from 3 Peaks Recreation area, a publically held B.L.M. managed property, acrost a good many miles in all directions!

On the one hand, my eyes enjoy just being able to scan those distances, much like I could when standing on the Denali hiway in Alaska, and being able to see the Black Rapids glacier, 200 miles away to north east!

As I looked on this scene in my new home in Utah, this Scripture came to my mind, but I found myself challenged by the question posed.  Do I "not perceive it".  Well ...., "no" I didnt ...but maybe I did, as the Lord encouraged me to lift my eyes up to the mountains.....there they are, way up there, gathering flakes of snow, and drops of rain in rivulets, and ponds and lakes, and underground aquifers, sending the precious water down to the desert floor. where it will help to grow feed for the free range livestock, that will be there in the summer on those open ranges, and supply water for the farmers growing hay and other things.

So I guess I see more than a long stretched out dry desert. I see that Jesus makes promises that He keeps. I can see He will always supply all my needs. I see him coming back, to make all things right.

So I will continue to look to the mountains, and expect my precious Saviour soon and very soon!

I hope this will help you love Him, your neighbor, and yourself more today

   ---peace---

A New Design for the collection "Isaiah 35"

Ray and I enjoy. . . .

getting out and about the area around us, here in our southwest Utah home. He, to look around to "find
interesting stuff". Me, I need get to know more about flora, fauna, wildlife and weather, and the ground my feet find the way on.
Part of the wildlife in my interest is, flowers. Only thinking of the desert as a hot, dry lifeless dirt, I came to appreciate a change in my outlook, as I discovered , thru the course of spring and summer, a number of easy to find wildflowers, as well as a certain low growing cactus found by stepping on its sharp thorns! But it is this very cactus that grows one of the most beautiful flowers I have seen ! It is also this very flower, that greets desert tortoises that have come out of hibernation, and looking for a tasty meal!  I was told that the flower food marks the lucky tortoise, as it leaves the lips outlined in a bright fuschia pink!!
I will be trying again this, my second spring season; to see the flowers as before, but hoping mostly to see the pink lipped tortoises!
Thanking the Lord for them , as I do for you dear reader, and look for ward to the time ahead to the eternally blooming lands!
